The installation of direct aircommunication between the two states presupposes the technical maintenance of thistask, therefore in December 2014 the delegation headed by the Minister of Industry andTrade of Russia D. Manturov arrived at the international business forum in Manama onthe business version of Sukhoi Superjet 100 to visually demonstrate our internationalpartners advantages of this aircraft.266[ ب سوري ة وال و ضع ال ث نائ ي ال ت عاون ي بح ثان رو س يا و ال بحري نBahrain and Russia discuss bilateralcooperationandthesituationinSyria][Electronicresource]//Al-Wasat.–URL:http://www.alwasatnews.com/news/1210655.html97Discussing with the members of the international delegations of the ArabianGulf countries the prospects for developing joint projects in aviation, the head of theMinistry of Industry and Trade of Russia noted that the project for the construction ofSSJ 100 aircraft in the business version will develop: the range of its flight in the futurewill reach 8 thousand km, and customers will be able to get an individual layout of thesalon, which is a curtsey towards the audience of consumers of luxury aircraft267.In the field of oil and gas, cooperation in the use of advanced Russiantechnologies to increase the productivity of oil wells, reconnaissance operations intransit zones and at great depth, supply of liquefied gas, construction and operation ofgas pipelines is paramount.
Joint implementation of projects in the energy sector is aneffective way to reduce competition for Russian companies in the Gulf markets.“Rosgeologiya” State Corporation was authorized to conduct seismic and otherworks to search for oil and gas in the territory of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This becamepossible due to the agreement concluded in 2016 between "Rosgeologiya" and the oiland gas holding company of Bahrain Oil and Gas Holding Company268.The agreement on mutual understanding and long-term cooperation in the fieldof oil and gas on the territory of the Arab state provides for the development ofcooperation in the field of training engineering and technical personnel, the exchange oftechnology and experience in the oil and gas sector, the possibility of carrying out on acommercial basis geophysical studies, in particular seismic operations at sea and landareas of the Kingdom of Bahrain. In addition, the cooperation will include the processing and interpretation ofseismic data, the search for oil and gas in transit and deep water zones, monitoring thestate of the geological environment of the continental shelf and land of the kingdom, geophysical studies of wells, the supply of geophysical equipment and equipment.

In Bahrain, plans are made to build the first terminalfor the reception of liquefied natural gas, the launch of which is expected in 2019.Given the deferred launch of this terminal, the Russian side by this time expects toincrease the volume of production and production of liquefied gas, which will make itpossible to supply part of these volumes for export, in particular to Bahrain. The goal ofcreating a regional gas hub potentially satisfying the demand in the countries of theArabian Gulf, the Levant and the Maghreb is very promising.A strong long-term cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain is of strategicimportance for Russia, given the geographical position of the Kingdom and itstraditional ties with the regional players for the region - Saudi Arabia and the UnitedStates.
Objectively, one can speak about the presence of certain influence on the part ofSaudi Arabia, the leader of GCC and the largest importer for Bahrain. Saudi Arabia isone of the leading actors in the Middle East region, including a strong position inOPEC. The price of oil largely depends on the position of the Saudis, which is alsoimportant for Russia. It is through bilateral cooperation with Bahrain, along with othercountries in the Middle East, that Russia will be able to maintain its own positions in thesub-region of the Arabian Gulf, as well as the Middle East in general. The fact that this partnership is considered one of the most promising areas fordevelopment in the Arabian Gulf subregion is a cogent testimony to the abovementioned claim on the strategic importance of Russian-Bahraini economiccooperation. Likewise, the Bahrain business expresses increasing interest in attractingRussian companies to participate in national projects. The signs of recessions in certain areas of the Russian-Bahraini economicpartnership does not affect the overall structure of bilateral ties, which are multi-level99and diversified.
The potential for the development of purely quantitative indices ofcommodity turnover, which, among other things, plays an even more importantpsychological role during the perception of relations on the part, and it clearly exists inthe area of increasing the export of grain and fodder. Implementation of the agreementsreached already in 2017 in the supply of ready-made meat products available to theconsumers of the Kingdom of Bahrain - raw beef, lamb and poultry. Practical projectsin the food field of the Bahraini side were proposed back in April 2014 during the visitto Manama of the Russian business delegation269.In the short term, there is a need between countries to strengthen direct contactsbetween representatives of business communities, now there are episodic and can hardlybe a stable basis for building contacts.
Making them more regular will give anadditional impetus to the establishment of direct ties between Bahrain and the regions ofthe Russian Federation. An example of cooperation of this kind is the practicalimplementation of the agreements between the President of Tatarstan RustamMinnikhanov and the King of Bahrain Hamad ibn Isa al-Khalif - the company "ChelnyBroiler" (part of the holding Agrosila, Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan) will be the firstRussian enterprise that in 2017 to supply heal products from poultry to the Kingdom ofBahrain270.Bahrain, having a developed infrastructure, the most liberal legislation in theregion, professional staff, observing international business standards and beingdistinguished by a friendly cosmopolitan atmosphere, is a convenient outpost forworking with the Gulf countries.
Given the focus of the island's leadership on thedevelopment of Bahrain-Russian cooperation, Russian business can use the existingconditions to access a wider regional market.269 ال عام خ الل وال تجارة ال ص ناعة وزارة إلن جازات ال س نوي ال ت قري ر2014 [The annual report of the achievements ofthe Ministry of Industry and Trade during 2014] [Electronic resource] // وال تجارة ال ص ناعة وزارة، ال بحري ن مم ل كة- ق وان ين[ ال خارج ية ال تجارةMinistry of Industry and Trade, Kingdom of Bahrain - Foreign Trade Laws]. URL:http://www.ved.gov.ru/news/22145.html100The leadership of both countries classified the bilateral business partnership asstrategic.
King Hamad al Khalifa, King of Bahrain flagged up on numerous occasionsthe wide opportunities in the development of trade and industrial relations between thetwo countries: “Today Russia's potential is obvious, the country's leadership looks to thefuture without looking back”, he said.4.2. Cooperation between Russia and Bahrain in the Provision of Regional SecurityDuring the 2000s, Russia, first of all, sought to avoid the risk of inadequatedisproportionate alliances. By the middle of the second decade of the 21st century,Moscow managed to build a system of constructive relations with almost all significantforces in the Middle East, despite their rivalry with each other and deep mutual distrust. To maintain such a status, it was required to avoid the temptation of excessiverapprochement with any one party, solidarization with only one narrative in anextremely ideologically divided region271.The formation of this fragile system of relationships was due to the goal ofensuring security and the desire to obtain a certain economic benefit.
