Ïðîáëåìàåñòåñòâåííîãî êîíòóðà ñïåêòðàëüíîé ëèíèè â àòîìíîé ôèçèêå â òåðìèíàõêâàíòîâîé ìåõàíèêè áûëà âïåðâûå ðàññìîòðåíà Âàéñêîïôîì è Âèãíåðîì [7].Åãî ïåðàÿ ôîðìóëèðîâêà â òåðìèíàõ ñîâðåìåííîé ÊÝÄ òåîðèè áûëà ñäåëàíàâ [3], ãäå áûëî îïèñàíî ïîÿâëåíèå ëîðåíöåâñêîãî êîíòóðà â ðåçîíàíñíîì ïðèáëèæåíèè â ðàìêàõ êâàíòîâîé ýëåêòðîäèíàìèêè è èññëåäîâàëîñü ïîÿâëåíèåíåðåçîíàíñíûõ ïîïðàâîê (âûõîä çà ðåçîíàíñíîå ïðèáëèæåíèå).
 [6] áûëî ïîêàçàíî, ÷òî ìåòîä êîíòóðà ëèíèè ïðåäñòàâëÿåò ñîáîé óäîáíûé èíñòðóìåíòäëÿ âû÷èñëåíèÿ ÊÝÄ ïîïðàâîê äëÿ àòîìîâ è èîíîâ, â ÷àñòíîñòè, äëÿ âû÷èñëåíèÿ ïîïðàâîê íà ññûëî÷íûå ñîñòîÿíèÿ â ìíîãîçàðÿäíûõ èîíàõ. Ìåòîä êîíòóðà ëèíèè, â ïðèíöèïå, îáëàäàåò âñåìè ïðåèìóùåñòâàìè, êîòîðûìè îáëàäàþò àëüòåðíàòèâíûå ìåòîäû äëÿ îïèñàíèÿ ìíîãîçàðÿäíûõ èîíîâ â ðàìêàõÊÝÄ òåîðèè, òàêèå êàê ìåòîä àäèàáàòè÷åñêîé S-ìàòðèöû [1, 2, 8], ìåòîä îïåðàòîðà ýâîëþöèè [9], ìåòîä äâóõâðåìåííîé ôóíêöèè Ãðèíà [10] è ìåòîä êîâàðèàíòíîãî îïåðàòîðà ýâîëþöèè [11]. Ìåòîä êîíòóðà ëèíèè íàïðÿìóþ ñâÿçàíñ òàêèìè âåëè÷èíàìè êàê ýíåðãèÿ è øèðèíà ýëåêòðîííîãî óðîâíÿ.
Áîëåå òîãî îí ÿâíî óêàçûâàåò íà ñóùåñòâîâàíèå ïðåäåëà (ðåçîíàíñíîå ïðèáëèæåíèå)20ïðè êîòîðîì ïîíÿòèå ýíåðãèè âîçáóæä¼ííîãî ñîñòîÿíèÿ èìååò ôèçè÷åñêèéñìûñë. Òàê êàê ìû ðàññìàòðèâàåì àòîìíûå ýëåêòðîíû âçàèìîäåéñòâóþùèìè ñ êâàíòîâàííûìè ïîëÿìè (ýëåêòðîìàãíèòíîå ïîëå, ýëåêòðîí-ïîçèòðîííîåïîëå), ïîëíàÿ ñèñòåìà (ÿäðî è íàáîð ýëåêòðîíîâ) â ñòðîãîì ñìûñëå íå ÿâëÿåòñÿ çàìêíóòîé ñèñòåìîé. Ñëåäîâàòåëüíî, ìû äîëæíû îáúÿñíèòü ÷òî æåìû áóäåì íàçûâàòü ýíåðãèåé óðîâíÿ.
 ðàìêàõ ìåòîäà àäèàáàòè÷åñêîé S ìàòðèöû ýíåðãèÿ óðîâíåé îïðåäåëÿåòñÿ ïîñðåäñòâîì àäèàáàòè÷åñêîãî ïðåäåëà, â êîòîðîì âûêëþ÷àåòñÿ âçàèìîäåéñòâèå ýëåêòðîíîâ ñ êâàíòîâàííûìèïîëÿìè.  ðàìêàõ äâêõâðåìåííîé ôóíêöèè Ãðèíà ýíåðãèÿ îïðåäåëÿåòñÿ ÷åðåç ïîëîæåíèå ïîëþñîâ ôóíêöèè Ãðèíà â êîìïëåêñíîé ïëîñêîñòè.  ðàìêàõìåòîäà êîíòóðà ëèíèè óðîâåíü ýíåðãèè àññîöèèðóåòñÿ ñ ïîçèöèåé ðåçîíàíñà â êîíêðåòíîì ïðîöåññå ðàññåÿíèÿ, ò.å. ñ êîíòóðîì ëèíèè. Âîîáùå ãîâîðÿ,äëÿ êîíêðåòíîãî ïðîöåññà êîíòóð ëèíèè ÿâëÿåòñÿ î÷åíü ñëîæíîé ôóíêöèåéðàçëè÷íûõ ïàðàìåòðîâ, õàðàêòåðèçóþùèõ ïðîöåññ ðàññåÿíèÿ, è åñòåñòâåííî êîíòóð ëèíèè çàâèñèò îò ðàññìàòðèâàåìîãî ïðîöåññà ðàññåÿíèÿ.
Îáû÷íî,ìû õîòèì îïèñûâàòü óðîâåíü ýíåðãèè òîëüêî äâóìÿ ïàðàìåòðàìè: ýíåðãèåé(E ) è øèðèíîé (Γ). Äëÿ ýòîãî ìû ìîæåì èíòåðïîëèðîâàòü êîíòóð ëèíèèëîðåíöåâñêèì êîíòóðîì, êîòîðûé õàðàêòåðèçóåòñÿ ïîçèöèåé åãî ìàêñèìóìàè øèðèíîé. Ñîîòâåòñòâåííî, ýíåðãèÿ óðîâíÿ ìîæåò áûòü àññîöèèðîâàíà ñïîçèöèåé ìàêñèìóìà êîíòóðà ëèíèè, à åãî øèðèíà ñ øèðèíîé ñîîòâåòñòâóþùåãî êîíòóðà Ëîðåíöà.
