After then the PROFIBUS slave will be try to connect with PROFIBUS master.Physical layer and configuration of Bias 3003To connect the Highpulse with the PROFIBUS, an isolated RS-485 interface(according with EN 50170) is required. Please ensure that termination resistors areavailable at both ends of the cable. If special PROFIBUS connectors are being used, theseresistors are often found inside the connector and must be switched on. The cable shieldshould be firmly connected to ground at every device.
Make sure that there is no potentialdifference between the grounds at the devices.Operating Instructions for TruPlasma Bias 3003 GeneratorRev. 3.1.1.1.P.09.01Page 40TruPlasma Bias series 3000/7000GSD filesGSD (Electronic data sheet of a device) files contain and describe the functions andcharacter of PROFIBUS device.
Therefore, to use this unit in a PROFIBUS system, it needsto have a specific GSD file that is compatible with the unit. Please, use only this GSD file, which is delivered with Bias.Specification for PROFIBUS slave Bias 3003:Configuration data: in accordance with GSD file (TruPlasma_Bias_3000_v2.gsd)Technology: ASICPhysical separation fieldbus side: StandardBaud rate for RS485: Automatic detection up to 12 MbaudSync: SupportedFreeze: SupportedPrimitive fieldbus ID: 120Dipswitch: SupportedOperating Instructions for TruPlasma Bias 3003 GeneratorRev. 3.1.1.1.P.09.01Page 41TruPlasma Bias series 3000/7000The TruPlasma Bias 3003 power supply is delivered in aready to use condition. If all connections have been made properlyand the operating instructions will carefully be followed there shouldbe no problems with the activation of the power supply.
The defaultsettings should give proper behavior of the device in the mostcommonly used system configuration. It would be useful, however to learn as much about themaintenance and operation principals as possible before proceedingwith the startup. Understanding the systems operating principals willhelp the user obtain more useful information from the controllersdisplay and understand the behavior of the entire power supply.Introducing any changes into the devices settings will obviouslyrequire full knowledge of the system (and also the password).Operating Instructions for TruPlasma Bias 3003 GeneratorRev.
