The operating procedure for a Support Tool is not given here. For theoperating procedure for the Support Tool, refer to the NT-series Support ToolVersion 4.6 for Windows Operation Manual (V061-E1-j).Creating a New ScreenCorrecting an Existing FileImporting DOS Version DataTool Setting (PT model)File DesignationFile DesignationSet the PT model as follows:NT21: Set NT21.NT31: Set NT31-V2.NT31C: Set NT31C-V2.NT631: Set NT631-V2.NT631C: Set NT631C-V2.Designate a work file.Designate the work file to be data converted.System Setting (Memory Switch Setting)Set the memory switches that determine thebasic operation of the PT.The numeral/character string/bit memory tableentry settings should also be made at thisstage.Setting for PT Status Control/Notify AreaAllocate words for the PT status control areaand PT status notify area, necessary for thedirect connection function, in the host. For details, refer to NO TAG Areas forControl/Notification (page NO TAG).288NT-series Support ToolNT-series Support ToolSectionScreen Creation ProcedureSetting the Clock Data Area3-1(NT21 only)Set the address of the first word to allocate as the ClockData Area in the host so that the clock data can be readfrom the host.Creating and Correcting a ScreenAfter designating a screen, set the screen properties andregister elements for the screen or correct the screen.
Ifnecessary, create marks, image data, and library data, and set the initial values of memory table entries. For details of screens and elements, refer to SectionNO TAG PT Functions.Saving a FileSave the created screen data to a file.Transmitting the Screen DataTransmit the created screen data to the PT. Aftersetting the PT in the Transmit mode, execute thescreen data transmission operation with the SupportTool.Support ToolNT31/NT31CReference:S It is not necessary to allocate words to the window control area if windows arenot used or when the windows are not controlled from the host.S It is not necessary to allocate words for the clock data area if the clock data isnot displayed and the screen display history or alarm history is not used.289SectionBuzzer, Backlight, and Display Control3-23-2Buzzer, Backlight, and Display ControlThe procedure for controlling the PT status including sounding the buzzer, backlight ON/OFF status, and turning ON/OFF the screen display is described below.3-2-1 Sounding the BuzzerThe PT provides the following three types of buzzer sounds.• Continuous soundThe buzzer sounds continuously.• Short intermittent soundThe buzzer sounds intermittently at 0.5 second intervals.• Long intermittent soundThe buzzer sounds intermittently at 1 second intervals. With the PT, the following two methods are used for sounding the buzzer.• Displaying a screen for which the buzzer attribute is set• Using a PT status control area operationReference: Whether or not the buzzer actually sounds depends on the setting of the memoryswitch in the PT.
The memory switch has the following three setting positions.• OFF:The buzzer never sounds.• ERR ON: The buzzer only sounds when a PT error occurs.• ON:The buzzer sounds in response to instructions from the host andscreen attributes and when an error occurs. To control the buzzer, set the memory switch at ON.
For details, refer to NO TAGBuzzer Function (page NO TAG).Sounding the Buzzer by Displaying a Screen for Which the Buzzer Attribute Is SetIf this method is used, the buzzer sounds automatically when a specific screen isdisplayed.SettingWhen creating a screen using the Support Tool, set any of the following buzzerattributes for the screen. Nothing is set in the default setting.• Continuous• Short beep• Long beepOperationWhen the screen where the buzzer attribute has been set is displayed during theoperation of the PT, the buzzer sounds automatically according to the setting. For the procedure for changing the screen, refer to NO TAG Switching theScreen (page NO TAG).Sounding the Buzzer by the Operation at the Status Control AreaThis method allows the operator to sound the buzzer at any required time.PTPCPT status control areaBuzzer soundsScreen switch settingCopy memorytable entry settingPT status control settingReserved for system use290← Control dataSectionBuzzer, Backlight, and Display Control3-2SettingWords must be allocated in the host for PT status control area.
