Once “STOP” (RUN/STOP), “MANU” (auto/manual),or “PRST” (program start) has been assigned to one event input, the other event can be assigned only to either of the remaining two settings.(2) “PRST” (program start) can be set only when the “program pattern” parameter has not be set to OFF.If the “program pattern” parameter is set to OFF (i.e., if the simple program mode is not selected) when “PRST” (program start) is set, the assignment of the input will automatically be changed to “NONE.”E5CNE5AN/EN−EV1EV1 EV2 +EV2+EV1 +EV2 +EV1EV2−When you are setting two externally input set points, set in the “number ofmulti-SP uses” parameter.• Switching is possible between two set points (0 and 1) by setting the“number of multi-SP uses” parameter to 1.The default setting is 1 and does not need to be changed to switchbetween two set points.Set point 0 or 1 is specified by the ON/OFF state of event input 1.77Section 4-5Using Event Inputs4-5-2How to Use the Multi-SP FunctionThe multi-SP function allows you to set up to four set points (SP 0 to 3) in theadjustment level.
The set point can be switched by operating the keys on thefront panel or by using external input signals (event inputs).Using Event InputsEvent inputs can be used if the Controller supports the event input functionand if the “number of multi-SP uses” parameter is set to 1 or 2.■ Number of Multi-SP Uses = 1Event input 1OFFONSelected set pointSet point 0Set point 1■ Number of Multi-SP Uses = 2Event input 1OFFOFFEvent input 2Selected set pointSet point 0ONOFFOFFONSet point 1Set point 2ONONSet point 3NoteEvent inputs can be used on E5@N-@@@B@ Controllers.
Turn the eventinputs ON or OFF while the E5AN is turned ON. Event input ON/OFF changesare detected for inputs of 50 ms or longer.Using Key OperationsYou can select any of the set points 0 to 3 by changing the set value of the“multi-SP uses” parameter. The “multi-SP uses” display conditions are as follows:• If the Controller does not support event inputs, the “multi-SP uses” parameter must be set to ON.• If the Controller supports event inputs, the “number of multi-SP uses”parameter must be set to 0 and the “multi-SP uses” parameter must beset to ON.The following table shows the relationship between the “multi-SP uses”parameter set value and the selected set point.Multi-SPNote78Selected set point01Set point 0Set point 123Set point 2Set point 3The set point can also be switched using communications.Section 4-5Using Event Inputs4-5-3SettingsSwitching between Set Points 0, 1, 2, and 3Operating ProcedureOperation LevelC25PV/SPThe following example sets the “number of multi-SP uses” parameter to 2.1.

The setpoint limiter is used to prevent the control target from reaching abnormal temperatures. The upper- and lower-limit values of the set point limiter are setusing the “set point upper limit” and “set point lower limit” parameters in theinitial setting level. When the set point limiter is reset, the set point is forciblychanged to the upper- or lower-limit value of the set point limiter if the set pointis out of the limiter range.
Also, when the input type and temperature unit arechanged, the set point limiter is forcibly reset to the sensor setting range.Sensor rangeSet point limiterSetting rangeSet pointAB(Cannot be set.)Upper-limitvalue changedUpper-limit value changedSet pointCInput type changedSet pointSet value Upper-/lower-limit valuesSensor upper-/lower-limit valuesB(Can be set.)ParametersSymbolsl-hsl-l4-6-2Parameter: LevelSet point upper limit: Initial setting levelSet point lower limit: Initial setting levelDescriptionTo limit the SP settingTo limit the SP settingSettingSet the set point upper and lower limits in the “set point upper limit” and “setpoint lower limit” parameters in the initial setting level.
