Melnikov's SystemLinguistic Typology for studying particles and their foreign-language equivalents asindicators of the communicative foreshortening of the English language system.The absence of a strictly defined communicative foreshortening in the Englishlanguage system, but the existence of prevailing occasional internal determinant, results inthe use of signs taking into account contexts, communicative situations, individualcharacteristics of the recipient, etc.Comparative analysis shows that the English equivalents of Russian particlesbelonging to different levels of language contribute to realization of almost all functionspeculiar to Russian particles and convey the content (dictum) of Russian particles.Based on the analysis of the English equivalents of Russian particles and the Russianparticles themselves, we conclude that particles act as linguistic elements, subsystems ofthe linguistic system, as markers of national cultural features, the uniqueness and specificityof each language and culture which this language serves to.
