The settings are sometimes not changed by merely pressingthe U or D keys.1-4Communications FunctionThe E5CN/AN/EN is provided with a communications function that enablesparameters to be checked and set from a host computer. If the communications function is required, use a model that has that function (E5@N-@@@03and E5AN/EN-@@@01). For details on the communications function, see theseparate Communications Functions User's Manual. Use the following procedure to move to the communications setting level.1,2,3...1. For waterproof mounting, waterproof packing must be installed on theController. Waterproofing is not possible when group mounting severalControllers. Waterproof packing is not necessary when there is no need forthe waterproofing function. There is no waterproof packing included withthe E5CN-U.2. Insert the E5CN/E5CN-U into the mounting hole in the panel.3. Push the adapter from the terminals up to the panel, and temporarily fastenthe E5CN/E5CN-U.4. Tighten the two fastening screws on the adapter. Alternately tighten thetwo screws little by little to maintain a balance. If the terminal cover is mounted in the opposite direction, proper mounting of the fixtures may not be possible.19Section 2-1Installation2-1-4Removing the Temperature Controller from the CaseThe Temperature Controller can be removed from the case to perform maintenance without removing the terminal leads. This is possible for only the E5CN,E5AN, and E5EN, and not for the E5CN-U. Insert the tool into the two tool insertion holes (one on the top and one onthe bottom) and release the hooks.2.
Insert the tool in the gap between the front panel and rear case, and pullout the front panel slightly. Hold the top and bottom of the front panel andcarefully pull it out toward you, without applying unnecessary force.3. When inserting the E5CN, check to make sure that the sealing rubber is inplace and push the E5CN toward the rear case until it snaps into position.While pushing the E5CN into place, push down on the hooks on the topand bottom surfaces of the rear case so that the hooks are securely lockedin place. Pull out the front panel gripping both sides. Be sure not to impose excessive force on the panel.20Section 2-2Wiring Terminals3. When inserting the E5AN/E5EN Temperature Controller, check to makesure that the sealing rubber is in place. Then, while pushing the front panelinto place, turn the Phillips screwdriver to the right in the opposite directionused when removing the panel to tighten the screws on the top and bottomsurfaces (tightening torque: 0.3 to 0.5 N·m).
