The notation usedin the manual (e.g., for model designations in SECTION 5 Parameters) for information that is restrictedby the model is given in the following table.NotationE5@N-@@@BTwo event inputsOptional functionsE5@N-@@@03E5@N-@@@HRS-485 communicationsHeater burnout and HS alarms for 1 pointE5@N-@@@HHE5@N-@QHeater burnout and HS alarms for 2 pointsControl output 2 (voltage output)E5@N-@@@PE5@N-@@@01External power supply for ES1BRS-232C communications (See note.)Note Supported for E5AN and E5EN only.Meanings of AbbreviationsThe following abbreviations are used in parameter names, figures and in text explanations. Theseabbreviations mean the following:SymbolTermPVSPProcess valueSet pointSVATSet valueAuto-tuningSTHSSelf-tuningHeater short (See note 1.)EUEngineering unit (See note 2.)Note: (1) A heater short indicates that the heater remains ON even when the control output from the Temperature Controller is OFF because the SSR has failed or for any other reason.(2) “EU” stands for Engineering Unit.
EU is used as the minimum unit for engineering units such as °C,m, and g. The size of EU varies according to the input type. For example, when the input temperature setting range is –200 to +1300°C, 1 EU is 1°C, and whenthe input temperature setting range is –20.0 to +500.0°C, 1 EU is 0.1°C.For analog inputs, the size of EU varies according to the decimal point position of the scaling setting, and 1 EU becomes the minimum scaling unit.xviiiHow to Read Display SymbolsThe following tables show the correspondence between the symbols displayed on the displays andalphabet characters.
The default is for 11-segment displays.a b c d e f g h i j k l mA B C D E F G H IJ K L Mn o p q r s t u v w x y zN O P Q R S T U V W X Y ZThe “character select” parameter in the advanced function setting level can be turned OFF to displaythe following 7-segment characters.A B C D E F G H IJ K L MN O P Q R S T U V W X Y ZxixxxTABLE OF CONTENTSSECTION 1Introduction. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
