The explanation is given for the operation that uses the input key – control keys to specify the input fieldinstead of the touch switch cursor moving keys. For the operation using the cursor moving keys, refer to Cases When MultipleNumeral Setting Input Fields Exist on a Screen (With Cursor Moving Keys)(page 334).Here, the basic method for inputting numeric values is not explained: the explanation concentrates on how the multiple numeral setting input fields shouldbe handled. For the numeric value input procedure and other related operations, refer to Inputting Numeric Values Using the Input Key – Control on the SameScreen (page 329).When creating a screen using the Support Tool, set the elements indicated below that are used to specify the active numeral input field as well as the regularcontrol keys that are used to input the numeric value.SettingTouch switch input key – controlHOME, ↓, ↑, ←, →,, andReference: If a screen has multiple numeral setting fields or character string input fields, theactive input field must be specified using these keys: HOME, ↑, ↓, ←, →, , .Operation1, 2, 3...1.
Display the screen where a numeral setting input field is registered.2. Specify the objective numeral setting input field using the input key – control(HOME, ↑, ↓, ←, →, , ).For the procedure for specifying the objective input field, refer to Specifyingthe Objective Numeral Setting Input Field Using Input Key – Control (page333).3. Input a numeric value using the input key – control. For the procedure for inputting a numeric, refer to Inputting Operation UsingTouch Switches (page 330).4. Press the ENT key of the input key – control or thekey to confirm the input. When the input is confirmed, the input numeric value is stored to a numeralmemory table entry. Then, the occurrence of a change in the contents of thenumeral memory table entry is notified to the host via the PT status notifyarea (page NO TAG).332SectionInput of Numeric Values and Character StringsReference:3-7S If the objective input field is shifted before confirming the input, the input numeric value is canceled and the screen returns to the one displayed before thenumeric value was input.S When a numeric input is confirmed, the PT checks whether the input is withinthe upper and lower (max./min.) limits set for that numeral setting input field.
Ifthe numeric value is outside the specified range, the buzzer sounds threetimes, the input numeric value is canceled, and the screen returns to the display before starting the input. In this case, neither writing to a numeral memorytable entry nor notification to the host is executed.S If the key is pressed to confirm the input, the same field remains as the objective input field even after the previous input has been confirmed.
If the ENT keyis used for the confirmation of the input, the next input field is selected as theobjective input field.S When NT20S or NT30/620 compatible mode is being used, the current screennumber occupies the first word of the PT status notify area and the words containing the updated memory table entry number and PT status notify bits areshifted down one word. (Refer to page NO TAG.)Specifying the Objective Numeral Setting Input Field Using the Input Key –ControlTo specify the objective numeral setting input field using the touch switch inputkey – control, follow the procedure described below.Reference: Use the procedures below to specify which input field (numeral or characterstring) is active and will receive inputs.
When both numeral and character-stringinput fields have been created in a screen, the input fields will be selected basedon their position and the order in which they were created regardless of the typeof input (numeral or character string).Specifying the Objective Input Field Using the Home, ↑, ↓, ←, → KeysPressing the HOME and ↑, ↓, ←, → keys selects the objective input field in themanner shown below.→6563HOME45683200↑0000↓51074624←Pressing the HOME key selects the field at the upper left of the screen as theobjective input field. The way in which thetouch switch cursor moving keys are used to specify the input field is explained. For the operation that uses the input key – control to specify the objective inputfield, refer to Cases When Multiple Numeral Setting Input Fields Exist on aScreen (With Cursor Moving Keys) (page 332).When a numeric key type input field is registered on a screen using the SupportTool, a cursor moving key touch switch can be created overlapping the inputfield. This enables the input field to be selected to accept input just by pressing it.Here, the basic method for inputting numeric values is not explained: the explanation concentrates on how the multiple numeral setting input fields shouldbe handled.
