Thethesis insists on the use of the systems methodology as the main analytical approach tocollecting and interpreting evidence. This methodology dictates that the system ofinternational relations be examined and construed as prone to constant change andtransformation in line with internal and external preconditions, but at the same time ashaving special built in “control and stabilizing mechanisms” through which the wholehas an impact on the functioning of parts. Consequently, it is possible to speak fairly8about the influence of the existing external environment on the formation of the foreignpolicy course of an individual state as the primary operational assumption on which thecore argument of the dissertation draws.Literature review.
The theoretical basis of the dissertation was constituted bythe research of foreign and domestic scholars on the problems of regionalism, thedefinition of a regional security subsystem and other important theoretical issues ofinternational relations. Supporters of the conceptsof country nationalism, which is narrower than the Arab one, criticized the founders ofthe Council of Cooperation of the Arab States of the Arabian Gulf for forcing thatyoung states to delegate some of their sovereignty to obscure bureaucratic structures.
