The "ASCII-Export data as" window used for exporting measuringdata opens up. Select a suitable name and path and then click Save. Themeasurement project will be exported.Delimiters, the date and time format, and decimal separators (period and comma)are country specific. These settings can be adjusted in the operating system:Windows Start menu > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options.The settings for the operating system will also be used by QUADERA®.81QUADERA HTML HelpClosing a Measurement Project1.

Press the left mouse button and keep it pressed.3. Move the cursor to the opposite corner of the rectangle. The zoom area isindicated by a dashed rectangle.4. Release the left mouse button. The marked area is zoomed in.NOTE:For sample measurements, the data navigator displays the time period of thezoomed area of the x-axis (time axis).Resetting the zoomed area1. Select the•••required curve color.Click one of the available basic colors, orClick one of the color fields that has already been defined by you, orClick [Define Custom Colors>>]. A continuous color palette appearsand allows you to select a color.4.

In the Tools menu, click Options…. The "Options" dialog opens.2. Click the Display tab.3. Enable the "Smooth Chart Lines" checkbox to smooth the displayed lines incharts.4. Use the spin buttons to increase and decrease the line thickness.The settings are applied to the charts for all measurement projects.87QUADERA HTML HelpSplitting Up the Working AreaYou can split up the working area into several sections, i.e. you can add new sections.ToolboxProceed as follows:1. Select the required working area.2. Open the corresponding toolbox.3.
Drag the required tool ("Split") onto the working area (drag&drop). Thesection is split up according to the selected tool.88QUADERADeleting a SectionNOTE:Measurement data remain stored when a section is deleted.You can revert the fragmentation of the working area, i.e. you can delete a section.ToolboxProceed as follows:1. Open the corresponding toolbox.2. Drag the Remove Section tool onto the required section (drag&drop).3. You are asked to confirm the deleting of the section. This allows you todisplay the measurement tasks of a measurement project in different ways accordingto your requirements (e.g. different combinations of measurement tasks, or therepresentation as a curve and a bar graph).ToolboxProceed as follows:1. Select the required measurement project.2. Open the corresponding toolbox.3. Drag the Add Working Area tool onto the working area (drag&drop). A newtab labeled "New WorkingArea" appears in the working area selection, and thenew working area is displayed.4.

This will allow you e.g. toscroll through a measurement or to zoom an area.Proceed as follows:1. Click on the measuring data display in the section with the right mouse button.The related context menu opens up.2. Click Hold:• The checkmark indicates that the function is enabled, i.e. the display isnow frozen.• The function is disabled if the checkmark is not shown.or1.
Click on the "Hold mode" icon in the data navigator. Note that the icon is onlydisplayed when the data navigator is shown.NOTE:If you are zooming an area or moving the cursor, the "Hold" function will beswitched on automatically, i.e. the display will freeze.92QUADERAManaging and Arranging WindowsDisplaying WindowsQUADERA® can manage several windows at a time. Individual windows can behandled as usual under the Windows operating system (close, move, resize, etc.).You may also use the title bar context menu for the respective window. In addition,the following options are available:•Show all windows•Close all windows•Switch between windows•Arrange iconsShowing all windows:•In the Window menu, click Cascade. This will arrange all open windows in anoverlapping manner.•In the Window menu, click Tile Horizontally.
This will arrange all openwindows as horizontal tiles (one below the other).•In the Window menu, click Tile Vertically. This will arrange all openwindows as vertical tiles (side by side).•In the Window menu, click Minimize All Windows. This will minimize allopen windows.Closing all windows:•In the Window menu, click Close All Windows. This will close all openwindows.Switching between windows:1. Open the Window menu. A list of all open measurement projects is displayedat the bottom of the pulldown menu.2. Click the required measurement project in order to move the related windowto the front.When switching to another measurement project, the device status display is alwaysupdated.

The "CommunicationSettings" dialog opens up.2. Select between the following settings:• Device:Connection with the device for real measurements. The IP Addressfield must contain the IP address of the device (setting up). TheService Tool button opens the add on program (installed togetherwith QUADERA®) to determine the IP address of the device.• Simulator:Simulation mode. You can work irrespective of the real vacuumconditions because QUADERA® uses a simulator that has beeninstalled on the PC together with the software.
This setting is e.g.helpful if you are practicing to get familiar with the software.3. Click OK to confirm. The "Communication Settings" dialog closes. The newsettings are applied.96QUADERAStarting and Stopping the MeasurementNOTE:New or modified parameters for the measurement task are accepted fromthe device only after the measurement has been restarted. Ion sourceparameters affect the device immediately, i.e. as soon as the device isconnected with QUADERA®.Starting the measurement1. In the device status view, check that the filament and SEM are on.
