Align the spline teeth of thesteering shaft and lower adapter byhand. Gently push downward on themotor or lightly tap the motor's rotor(the circular ring with six threaded holes)with a rubber dead blow hammer tobegin mating the spline teeth together.CCAUTION – Do not force the splineadapter onto the steering shaft.
If thesplines do not mate together, stopand then recheck that the spline teethare aligned or that you have thecorrect lower adapter for yourmachine. When the hex nut is installed andtightened, the motor will slide downwardand seat onto the steering shaft.EZ-Pilot Steering System Installation Instructions332EZ-Pilot System InstallationStep 2Reinstall the original large hex nut.Use a 32 mm, 34 mm, or 15/16" deepsocket.
