Abstract

The goal of the final qualification work is to obtain a new steganographic method based on the JPEG image compression algorithm and to develop a software solution based on it, enabling the embedding and extraction of hidden messages from graphic images.

In the first part of the paper, the theoretical foundations of digital steganography are examined and the regulatory and legal documentation of the Russian Federation on ensuring information security with a view to determining the place of steganography in the field of information protection is examined.

The second part is devoted to the analysis of existing methods of hiding information in digitized images, special attention is paid to the methods associated with the introduction of information in JPEG graphic format files. The shortcomings and advantages of existing steganographic methods are considered and a new improved algorithm is proposed that eliminates them.

The third part deals with the development of a software solution that implements the proposed method, describes the architecture of the project and its main features. Developed documentation for the developer and user.

The final parts of the work are devoted to the calculation of the economic efficiency of the developed application and the definition of optimal working conditions when working on a personal computer.
