The headline of the article I have read is “Biometric Identity”.

It is probably a scientific article. Unfortunately, there is no mention of the date or author of the article.

The main idea of the article is about making digital identity for every person, e.g. there is such attempts in US and India. The article presents some statistics on those countires and afterward discuss some problems concerning the idea of biometric identity.

Mainly the article asks a question of the comfort of having personal id and making everyone to carry it with themselves. It is also questioned if there will not be some huge objections from some people because any government do not want to make decisions that will meet big opposition. The aspect of biometric identity also has some technical problems, e.g. how to make it safe enough, so it will be impossible to steal someone else’s identity. Another concern is that it will be hard to provide people free of surveillance, after all their digital actions will be recorded and stored.

Personally, I am against biometric identity, because it gives a lot of power and control for government under people and there will be always someone, who will use it against them limiting their freedom.
