Кратко

The main pipeline transport is major and integral component of fuel and energy complex of Russia. The ramified network main gas, and oil products of wires which pass on territory practically all subjects of Federation is created in the country.

With the help of pipeline system the state can adjust deliveries of mineral oil to the internal and external markets. Export gas, oil and mineral oil is carried out basically by pipeline transport, including through marine terminals. The degree of reliability pipelines determines stability of maintenance regions of Russia by the major fuel and energy resources. The Russian pipeline systems most actively developed in 60-80-Ñ years. Now 35 % of pipelines are maintained more than 20 years that demands enhanced attention to their operational reliability and technical safety.

The history of pipeline transport of Russia has gone through main changes. First, in a postwar period many oil fields were open. It promoted creation of new pipeline strings. Second, the changed political life and economic changes have led to increase in an oil recovery for the purpose its deliveries in other countries.

1992 year is believed to be the start of the new epoch in the new Russia’s pipeline transportation system.

The 20th century is over now. In the changing political and economic situation in the country, the system of Transneft oil trunk pipelines guarantees steady pumping of oil volumes as it is required by the Russian economics.

Provision of environmental safety of the Baltic Pipeline System

Special attention is paid by joint-stock company Transneft to providing highest environmental safety of the BPS’s facilities at all stages of the project implementation - from investment planning to production facilities construction and operation.

High capacity industrial and sewage waters treatment facilities have been put into operation to prevent the environmental pollution. The unique technology applied by Transneft permits to comply with strict sewage treatment standards for all the range of pollutants.

Decision has been made by Transneft to provide additional environmental control over the state of the isolated ballast waters discharged from tankers in the process of loading the crude oil

In the conclusion it would be desirable to tell, that pipeline transport, origin and which development it is connected to beginning of oil and gas extraction, is a basis power supply of the country.
