Annotation.

Railway transport is the basis of the transport system of Russia and should ensure timely and qualitatively the needs of the population for transportation and services, the vital activity of all sectors of the economy and national security of the state.

It plays a big role in the formation of the transport services market and allows to effectively develop entrepreneurial activity in interaction with other modes of transport.

Railway transport should fully and timely meet the needs of all sectors of the national economy and the population in transport. Also, it plays an important role in the development of economic ties, cooperation and specialization of production, development of natural resources.

Traffic safety in transport is the main factor ensuring the efficiency of the transportation process. Any accident or crash on transport leads to great material and technical losses. Cargo and machinery are damaged, the way and contact network is destroyed, the movement of all trains on the site stops. All this leads to great economic costs, and sometimes to human losses. Ensuring safety is the strict performance by each direct participant of the transportation process of job duties, rules, instructions, technological processes and the maintenance of technical means of transport in constant serviceability. On the railways, a comprehensive method of organizing traffic safety was introduced everywhere. Its essence lies in the practical implementation of the basic provisions guaranteeing strict compliance by each participant of the transport process with the rules of technical operation, instructions for signaling, train movement and shunting work on the railways.

To ensure the safety of traffic in railway transport, a wide variety of technical means are introduced that monitor and duplicate the actions of the driver or warn the driver of emergencies.
