Прочитайте письмо. Ответьте на вопрос. According to the excerpt, what is one possible effect of GM foods? Genetically modified (GM) foods are at the forefront of public consciousness. Fears range from environmental concerns to ethical debates to health issues, and studies have shown that the general skepticism is not entirely unfounded. Several years ago, a scientist named Pusztai announced that rats fed on GM potatoes had stunted growth, in addition to being more vulnerable to disease. In many countries, consumers are strongly opposed to genetic modification, and in Europe many food producers have shied away from GM crops so as not to damage customer confidence. Such producers have realized that for consumers, the simple presence of a food product on the market no longer guarantees its safety, or the absence of “environmental risk.”
