Презентация: Graphene - Material of the Future
Описание
Right then. Let`s get started. Hello everyone. I am very grateful to you for coming here today. So let me introduce myself: my name's ____ , I am the student of Bauman State University.
The purpose of this presentation is to tell you about Graphene.
In my presentation, I aim to do five things.
First, I'll give you a meaning of graphene.
Secondly, I want to discuss its Characteristics and Properties.
Thirdly, I will tell you about Uses and Applications of Graphene
And finally, I'll say a few words about Graphene in the Future and Obstacles to Development.
I`ll take about 5 minutes of your time. In the interests of time could we leave questions until the end.
So let's start with my first point.
What is graphene?
Graphene is a material composed of carbon atoms grouping that are hexAgonally positioned. This arrangement results in monolayers of an atom thick.
This material is the part of one of the most abundant substances in nature, graphite. One millimeter of graphite contains three million layers of graphene.
Graphene’s Characteristics and Properties
Graphene is a single lattice layer 1 atom thick. Hence its first unique property: the thinnest. Graphene is 60 times thinner than the smallest virus. 3,000 times thinner than a bacterium. 300,000 times thinner than a sheet of paper. Graphene is also an excellent conductor of electric current.
The uniqueness of graphene is that it has the same structure as semiconductors, while it itself conducts electricity - like conductors. It also has high mobility of charge carriers inside the material.
Graphene has good thermal conductivity, flexibility and elasticity, it is 97% transparent. At the same time, graphene is the strongest of all known materials: stronger than steel and diamond.
Uses and Applications of Graphene
Due to the great properties mentioned above, graphene has applicability in numerous sectors....
