Conclusion
In my opinion, the area of developing computer keyboards is not perspective at all. The only things to develop in this area are design, ergonomics and maybe new layouts, new keys. But the entire technology of keyboard producing is already mastered.
But developing alternative text-entering methods offers a lot of perspectives to someone working in that area. Optical character recognition is already broadly used in everyday computer usage, e.g. it’s easier to scan a document and use a special program like FineReader than to enter the whole document via keyboard. Speech recognition can also be extremely helpful in some situations.
It would be nice to invent something in this area.
