ВИСНОВОК
На сьогодні Великобританія "із запасом" виконала зобов'язання в рамках Кіотського протоколу, але подальше виконання взятих країною зобов'язань буде ускладнюватися існуючими ризиками структурного характеру британської економіки (надвисоке енергоспоживання, зокрема в транспортному секторі, перетворення на нетто-імпортера енергоносіїв, хронічний дефіцит торговельного балансу, "деіндустріалізація", залежність економічного зростання від кон'юнктури міжнародних фінансових ринків у зв'язку з надмірною часткою фінансового сектора у ВВП). Тому активна позиція Сполученого Королівства з лобіювання питань зміни клімату в рамках "Великої Вісімки" і ЄС вказує на його особливу зацікавленість в їх просуванні, в тому числі з метою вирішення існуючих внутрішніх проблем за рахунок "третіх" країн.
