Saschuk M.M. Age-related aspects of immunologic dysregulation in case of incomplete global cerebral ischemia in male rats. – Manuscript.
The thesis for obtaining the academic degree of a Candidate of Medical Sciences in speciality 14.03.04 – Pathologic Physiology. – State Higher Educational Establishment "I. Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University" of Ukraine’s THP, Ternopil, 2008.
The dissertation deals with the results of investigating the age-related peculiarities of immunological dysregulation which arises in male rats under the influence of incomplete global cerebral ischemia and a possibility of using Emoxipin to correct its manifestations.
Incomplete global cerebral ischemia in all the structural-functional zones of the thymus of the animals of both groups has been shown to cause a change of the total density of thymocytes, a redistribution in the lymphoid population structure, change of the morphometric and densitometric parameters of thymocytes.
Based on the indices of the structure of the thymic lymphoid population the most sensitive to incomplete global cerebral ischemia is the subcapsular and deep cortical zones of the thymus of the animals of both age groups, whereas the influence of cerebral ischemia on the morphometric parameters of diverse forms of thymocytes is the most essential in the intralobular perivascular spaces of the thymus of the animals of both age groups and the medularry zone of three month old rats.
It has been ascertained that throughout postnatal ontogenesis there occurs a change of the priority of different zones of the thymus that contain catecholamines in responding to cerebral ischemia which disturbs the intrathymic interrelations of catecholamine-containing structures.
Irrespective of the animals’ age the signs of exhaustion of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis are revealed on the sixth day after incomplete global cerebral ischemia in various structural-functional zones of the thymus, exept the cerebral one where the proischemic effects of the medication predominate.
The obtained findings substantiate the expediency of using not only neuroprotective therapy, but immunocorrective one as well under conditions of an ischemic injury of the brain.
Key words: incomplete global cerebral ischemia, thymus, neuroimmune dysregulation, age-related peculiarities.
