The dissertation deals with the study of variant anatomy of the arteries and collaterals which participate in formation of secondary bleeding from damaged main trunks of the gluteal arteries. Data for intrapelvic anastomoses of the superior and inferior gluteal arteries taking into consideration the occurrence of forming these collaterals and the size of their external diameters have been obtained by means of various techniques of investigation (preparation and morphometry, histologic, experimental and statistic ones). For the first time the functional significance of the arterial collector connecting the reservoirs of the external and internal iliac arteries has been determined. The literature data about variants of forming the parietal arteries of the human pelvis have been added and made more precise. Practical recommendations as to a decrease in occurrence of formation of secondary hemorrhage from damaged main trunks of the gluteal arteries have been developed.
