For this trip, you will need to have a visa. You can get the Schengen-Finnish visa from Finnish embassy in St. Petersburg which will cost about 30 euros. The documents you need are: abroad passport, old abroad passport, Russian passport, one picture 36*47, coloring, on a gray background, fill in the form, health insurance.
The best way to travel for this trip, is using public transportation. You can go by international bus from SPB to Helsinki and it’ll cost 13 euros., After, you can go by public bus from Helsinki to Velkua, and then from Velkua to Porvoo, and then return back to SPB from Porvoo. This whole trip will cost about 38 euros. You can check the timetable of all the public transports in Finland, which will help you stay on time.
The place where you can stay during the three nights can be in the region of Turku in the cabins nearby lake. There you can find the high-end cottage, fully equipped with modern appliances that can fit up to seven people. In the cottage there are three bedrooms, a mansard, a kitchen, a sitting room, bathrooms and a sauna. Also, near the cottage is a private beach. Rental cottages includes including both breakfast and dinner. All dishes are prepared only from natural products of the Finnish upper class. There you can have a rest, then go fishing, cook barbecue or play outdoor games, swimming or for a row. And in the evening time go to the sauna with Finnish people. The cottage is in Velkua. It is a small municipality of the archipelago of Turku, on the southeast coast of Finland. There are about 245 Finnish people living there. From Turku to the cottage is about 45 km away.
In the route you will have time for two excursions: in Helsinki and in Porvoo. With the help of an audio guide, you will have an excursion in Helsinki called «Vappu day or the labor day» and an excursion in Porvoo called «healthy Finnish style of life ». With these excursions the tourists will better understand the style of Finnish life, with the help of the Finnish people the tourists will fall deeper into the Finnish culture. The cultural and educational route will help tourists to look at the world from the another perspective, open their minds, and will surely help to find a lot of international friends.

Characteristic of the route
All movement on the route does not exceed seven hours drive away. It consists of two large route crossings in the first and last day of the tour. SPB-Helsinki-Velkue, and then Velkua-Porvoo-SPB. The boundary will intersect with the Russian side to Torfyanovka, and with the Finnish side to Vaalimaa. The most important part of the route is to pass the bound as fast as it possible. That’s why important to leave from SPB in the early morning.
The weather in Finland is so unpredictable. That’s why you need to be prepared for cold and rainy weather and have an umbrella, warm clothes, and comfortable shoes without heels. Don’t forget a swimsuit, but if you forget then enjoy the Finnish sauna naked like native Finnish people usually do.
Think about costumes for Vappu day, fit any jumpsuits different colors or whatever you think will be good for the parade. Be ready to have fun, and read information about traditions during Vappu celebration.
