The operational efficiency of railway transport depends on smooth functioning of separate elements which this transport consists of. Railway stations are such key elements. It is the activity of the railway stations which determines the quality of work and core indicators of the industry in general.

Grodekovo II station is a two-sided local third class station. Maintenance service, commercial railroad cars inspection, breaking up of trains, trains composition, local railroad cars transfer to Grodekovo II station is provided at this station.

Main operation of the station is a composition of transfer trains with destination to Suifenhe station of Chinese railway.

The development of reconstruction activities for improvement of Grodekovo II station’s performance is the goal of this diploma project.

The following problems need to be solved in this diploma project:

- give technical-operational characteristic of the station;

- consider the working technology of the station;

- plan a daily time schedule of the station according to the existent technology and estimate its showings;

- propose measures to improve the station’s work and plan a daily time schedule after the reconstruction of the station;

- give an economic justification of the proposed measures.
