(a) Show that a cube of mass m with edges of length bfloating upright (not tilted) in a fluid of density ρ. Will have adraft (depth to which it sinks below the waterline) h given atequilibrium by h0 = m / b 2ρ. (b) Find the total force on the cubewhen its draft is h, and verify that plugging in h = h0 gives a totalforce of zero.
(c) Find the cube’s period of oscillation as it bobsup and down in the water, and show that it can be expressed interms of h0 and g only.47LITERATUREГрамматические аспекты перевода: Учеб. пособие.
