My Future ProfessionCenturies ago there were only a few jobs: farmers,bakers, butchers or salesmen. Today there are thousandsdifferent jobs, and new ones are constantly appearing.And the problem of choosing the future profession hasalways been very important and difficult matter becauseit changes our future life in many ways. It is one of themost important decisions for every person.As for me, I had decided to be a tutor in mathematicsand physics, so 3 years ago I entered Bauman MoscowState Technical University. Our University is situated inthe east of Moscow. It consists of a big amount ofbuildings, and they are very comfortable. Students saythat our buildings are the best and it is quite easy to finddifferent classes.As for subjects – we have many of them. They are:English,mathematicalanalysis,physics,analyticgeometry, History, strength of materials PhysicalEducation and others.

I find my subjects quite interestingbecause they help me to understand the way of teachingother people and to learn some more information, I havenever known before.As I’ve told before – I chose to be a tutor inmathematics and physics because it will be a chance tofulfill my dream of helping people to learn more aboutthese two subjects.

I think I possess the qualitiesnecessary for being a good tutor. I am hard-working,kind-hearted, and broadminded. I want to devote myselfto teaching different people, especially children. It will bea very challenging work for me – I will need to use all myknowledge, skills to find the right personal touch forevery single student and make the process of studying ascreative and interesting, as possible. So, I think that Ihave made the right choice.Higher Education in Russia.Higher education plays an important part in the life ofany country. It provides the country with highly-qualifiedspecialists for future development and progress.Education helps people to become teachers, engineers,doctors and other professional workers.The academic year usually lasts 9 months and isdivided into two terms.

The first- and second-yearstudents get thorough instructions in the fundamentalsciences of mathematics, physics, chemistry as well ascomputer engineering. The educational program containsinstructions in such subjects as foreign languages, historyand economics.At the third year students get more advancedknowledge. They begin to concentrate on their specialinterests - their «major» subject and take many coursesin this subject. Specialized study and courses will helpstudents to become specialists and prepare them for theirfuture work.After four years students will get a bachelor's degree.Then the students may go on with their studies and in ayear or two of further study and research get a master'sdegree.

After graduating from the university they may goon with their study and research and may get a stillhigher degree.About 75 percent of students receive state grants and15 percent are sponsored by enterprises. Universitieshave their own students' hostels and some of them havelarge and excellent sport centers.Education is the way to success.Higher Education in USA.There is no national system of higher education in theUnited States. Higher education is given in colleges anduniversities.

There are over 2100 various highereducational institutions, colleges, technological institutesand universities. The average college course of study is 4years. The academic year is usually 9 months or 2 termsof four and a half months each. Classes usually begin inSeptember and end in June.

The first-year students arecalled freshmen.Students choose a major subject and take manycourses in this subject. After four years, they get atraditional Bachelor's degree. Then the students may goon to graduate school and with a year or two of study geta Master's degree.After another year or two of study and research, theymay get a still higher degree as Doctor. The student'sprogress is estimated by means of tests, term works andfinal examinations in each course. The student's work isgiven a mark; usually on a five point scale.

Letters showthe level of achievement. «A» is the highest mark. «F»means the failure.Most American colleges and universities charge fortuition. The methods of instruction in the universities arelectures, discussions, laboratory and course works,seminars.Most cities have colleges or universities that holdclasses at night as well as in daytime. In this way peoplemay work for a degree or just take a course in thesubject that interests them.Kiev.Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and it is the largest city inthis country. More than three million people live there.Kiev was founded more than 1500 years ago.

It is thepolitical, economic, industrial and cultural centre ofUkraine. There are many factories in Kiev. They makedifferent products. In Kiev there are many museums,monuments, theatres, cinemas, libraries and palaces.Thousands of students study at Kiev-Mohila academy,at Kiev University, many institutes and colleges. Kiev alsois a large transport centre.Kiev metro is very beautiful. Kiev is situated on thebanks of the river Dnieper. The city is very green.

It isone of the most beautiful cities of Ukraine.Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, president and governmentare located in Kiev. Immigrants of many countries live inthe capital of Ukraine too. Ukrainians are proud that theircapital is one of the best and oldest cities in the world.Khreschatyk is the main street in Kiev. It is not verylong, but it is very wide.

You can see many cars andtrolley buses on Khreschatyk. There are many big greentrees in it. A lot of people go to Khreschatyk every day.Some of them go shopping because there are many goodshops and big market there. Other people go to thecinema, look at the fountains or sit on the benches. Inthe evening many people walk in Khreschatyk. There youcan see many bright lights. People like the main street ofKiev because it is nice and green..
