• We arrived in the ancient capital (2) of Russian in the morning. In view of the approaching coronation celebrations Nikolaevsky railway station (2) was overcrowded and our train was driven off by the transmission branch to Brestsky railway station (2), which seemed to me, to put it mildly, rather tactless on the part of local authorities. I suppose, this show of neglect was due to some tension, growing between His Highness (1), Georgy Aleksandrovich (2) and His Highness, Simeon Aleksandrovich (2), the governor-general (2) of Moscow. There is no other explanation to account for the humiliating half hour delay at Sortirovochnaya station (2) and the transfer of the special express from the main railway station to a minor one.
